    Eileen Power DePaula

    MEd., MAc, Lic.Ac, Clinic Director

II have been practicing acupuncture since 1995, and am licensed by the Board of Medicine in MA, and a member of the NCCAOM.  Together with my husband, Geoff, I  founded Root & Branch in 2002.

My interest in holistic health goes back to childhood.  I got my first degree in Clinical Nutrition at UNH in 1985, and became a massage therapist the following year.  While I loved the practice of massage and the clinical understanding of the musculoskeletal system, I felt that I had limited ability to really impact the health of my clients.  I pursued a master's degree in Health Education at BU, but finally pursued acupuncture training after being drawn to it for a number of years.  It has been the most enriching decision I have ever made.  Acupuncture provides a way of assessing and treating people to actually improve their health and to prevent the onset of chronic illness, while also being able to treat acute conditions.  I believe strongly that addressing underlying stress and trauma are critical to improving health.

I have been specializing in women’s health with a particular focus on improving dietary and lifestyle patterns to inspire people to feel happier, healthier, and more engaged in life.  I continue to study and train in supportive therapies, in order to approach things from a variety of perspectives.  I have been a yoga practitioner for over 30 years.    Areas of specialty are: gynecology, fertility, prenatal and postpartum, perimenopause and menopause, acute and chronic pain, stress and anxiety, GI, autoimmune disease, orthopedics, palliative care and supportive cancer treatment.  She is currently pursuing End of Life Doula Training.
